The San Francisco Giants moved to California in 1958 at the same time as did the Los Angeles Dodgers, thus continuing the rivalry that had existed when the two teams played in New York. Though the Giants rarely made it to the post-season in the '60's-70's, the teams they fielded had top-class Hall of Fame talent such as Willie Mays, Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal. The Giants have the unfortunate distinction of currently having the longest period of any major league team without bringing a championship to their host city (51 years).
