After finishing either last or next-to-last for their first 7 years of existence, the New York Mets put it all together and won the World Series in 1969. The Mets now play in Citi Field after years of playing in Shea Stadium. They have appeared in more World Series (4) than any other expansion team. No Met's pitcher has ever thrown a no-hitter, going the longest of any major league franchise without one. The Mets were on the victorious end of the infamous ground ball that went past Bill Buckner in the 1986 World Series.
