The Colorado Rockies came into the National League as a new franchise when the league expanded in 1993. Playing in the "mile-high" Rocky Mountain/Denver air, balls tend to travel farther and faster. As a result, run production for and against the Rockies has been typically higher than in other cities. The Rockies have never won their division, but did appear (and lost) as a Wild Card team in the World Series of 2007.
