From 1970-1981, the Cincinnati Reds were arguably the most talented team in baseball, stacked with All-Star and Hall of Fame caliber players. Reds players won 6 MVP trophies in an 8 year span (4 separate players) during this era of the "Big Red Machine". The Reds play at Great American Ball Park, and have traditionally opened the regular major league season by playing the first game at home.
